CGBE Curved Cuticle Scissors

A CGBE curve that follows the edge of the nail

Straight blades meet a rounded nail at an awkward angle. These blades curve, so the tip follows the line of the sidewall and the cut stays in view without twisting your wrist. That fine point gets under a single lifted hangnail or one stray brow hair and leaves its neighbors alone.

Mirror polish on the stainless steel gives a smooth surface that wipes down quickly between uses. At 3.7 by 1.7 inches the scissors fit a manicure roll or a makeup pouch, and six colors are made, polished silver among them.

Use them on hangnails and on loose, dead skin that has already lifted. The American Academy of Dermatology advises against letting anyone push or cut the cuticle, because it can lead to inflammation and infection. Clean and disinfect the blades after every client, as the academy also asks of salon tools, and store them dry.

How to use it

1. Hold the scissors with the curve turned away from the skin.
2. Lift the hangnail with the tip and snip close to where it has already lifted.
3. Wash and disinfect the blades after each client, then store them dry.
